Professional development is a very important part of psychology practice. The NZHPPA holds regular professional development sessions that involve presentations relevant to the clinical practice of health psychology.

Over the last few years, the NZHPPA have held monthly Peer Review sessions and have hosted a range of guests.

Objectives of the NZHPPA Peer Review Sessions

The objectives for the Peer Review Sessions are:
  • To provide a supportive environment that reflects the importance of professional development for health psychology practitioners.
  • To promote the professional development of Health Psychologists in New Zealand by facilitating opportunities for ongoing education and the sharing of information relevant to the practice of Health Psychology.
  • To promote high standards of ethical and professional service and practice on the part of Health Psychologists.
  • To promote the interests of the Profession of Health Psychology in New Zealand.
